When democracy failing why not Lokpal will?

When the complete infrastructure of democracy is crumbling, what is the guarantee that the Lokpals and Lokpal bill will not meet the same fate?

This is unfortunate that we Indians have to choose from bad and worse in every election. When bad are chosen they become worst. When some rare good are chosen they become worse.

Promoters of the Lokpal bill trying to bring everyone and everything under the scanner.

Is this conspiracy to transfer the power from elected members to a set of non elected members?

Kiran Bedi said that "India loses $16 billion per year because of corruption". When there is so much money involved, what is the guarantee that the Lokpals will not adopt or forced to the same malpractices? What is the guarantee that they will not melt or succumb to greed?

The constitution in this so called great democratic republic has provisions to tackle each and every challenge and there is provision to update them through a transparent procedure on the floor in parliament or assembly. Unfortunately that is often underutilized and/or misused by every government whether it is Congress, BJP or other party.

Congress has ruled for majority of the time and no wonder she is the mother of most of the scams.

Who is lagging behind?

Former BJP president was nabbed red handed while taking bribe in a string operation. BJP’s Advani was named in Hawala scandal and got a clean chit by supreme court because CBI could not produce enough evidences and interestingly BJP was ruling then. Was CBI manipulated? Because BJP knows the truth, it it the reason that they say CBI is not an independent organization?

Another question here is why the UPA govt will bring a strong anti corruption lokpal bill? Their members are the major beneficiary of the corruption. Why they will axe themselves? At the same time they cant think of losing the power on this issue in next election so some effort will be to please and pacify through a weak lokpal bill. And I feel expecting anything more is height of expectation as i said in my last blog. My opinion is to negotiate with the government and have maximum coverage of anti corruption agenda, later fight the election, win it and modify the bill and every other regulation which need to be in the interest of India.

I appreciate and support the anti corruption activities and activists. Because of their pure relentless efforts, India is supporting them unanimously. That is why I believe now it is the time that a new national party should be launched by them and honest and educated candidates who have proven themselves in their fields should be given ticket. They should take the message in every corner of India. India will definitely vote for change! Once in power they can reciprocate upon the trust by voters.

Keep dreaming!

Finally, A heart touching scene from the blockbuster movie Deewar (1975). Nothing has changed since then. Same poverty, same corruption, same struggle and same police.

It touched my heart since I saw it first time in ninties. A boy is shot for stealing a piece of bread and then his mother's outburst on the police finally his father acquits the cop because theft if theft. Add the power pact acting and background music.
